Privacy policy
Information on how we process your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021).
As a law firm, we take the protection of your personal data particularly seriously. We process your data solely on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, DSG, TKG 2021). This Privacy Policy explains the key aspects of how we process data in connection with our website and our work as lawyers.
01 Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:
Teamanwälte – law firm of Mag. Johannes Bügler
Baumgartenstraße 82, 1140 Vienna, Austria
Phone: +43 1 419 13 18
Email: office@teamanwaelte.at
If you have questions about data protection or wish to exercise your rights, you can reach us using the contact details above. No data protection officer has been appointed, as this is not required by law.
02 Principles of data processing
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. We process such data only where there is a legal basis for doing so – in particular for the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), for compliance with legal obligations (point (c)), on the basis of legitimate interests (point (f)) or on the basis of your consent (point (a)).
When you simply visit the website, we process your data only to the extent that is technically necessary. We process data beyond this only if you actively contact us or give your consent.
03 Server log data and hosting
When you visit our website, your browser automatically sends information to our hosting provider’s server, which stores it temporarily in what are known as log files. This information includes in particular the IP address, the date and time of access, the page visited, the type of browser used and the operating system.
We carry out this processing to ensure that our website runs without technical errors and remains secure and stable. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Our website is hosted by the following provider, which acts as a processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR:
ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich
Proprietor: René Münnich
Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany
We have concluded a data processing agreement with the hosting provider, which ensures that the data is processed in accordance with the contract and the law. The servers are located within the European Union.
04 Cookies and consent
Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device and do not damage it. We distinguish between technically necessary cookies and cookies that are not necessary (for example for web analytics and third-party services).
Technically necessary cookies ensure the basic functions and the security of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning, user-friendly website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, § 165(3) TKG 2021).
We only set or activate cookies and services that are not technically necessary – in particular Google Analytics – once you have actively given your consent via our cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your consent is voluntary. You can refuse it, and you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings or your browser settings. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
05 Web analytics with Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; ‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies that make it possible to analyse how the website is used. The information these cookies generate about your use of the website – including your shortened IP address – is transferred to Google servers and stored there.
We have activated IP anonymisation, so Google shortens your IP address within the EU/EEA before it is transferred. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be completely ruled out. Any such transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as an appropriate safeguard.
The processing is based solely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165(3) TKG 2021), which you give via the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google. By default, user data is stored for 14 months. You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For further information, see Google’s Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
06 Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console, a free tool provided by Google Ireland Limited, to analyse and improve the visibility of our website in Google Search. Search Console provides us only with aggregated statistical reports on the search queries through which people find our website (e.g. search terms, impressions, clicks, average position).
This data does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual visitors, and we receive no personal data. Where processing does take place, it is based on our legitimate interest in optimising the technical performance and content of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
07 Fonts
The fonts used on this website are loaded locally from our own server. No data is transmitted to Google or any other third party in the process.
08 Contacting us
If you contact us via the contact form, by email or by phone, we process the data you provide (in particular your name, contact details and your enquiry) in order to deal with your enquiry and to answer any follow-up questions.
The legal basis is the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry (point (f)). Submitting an enquiry does not create a lawyer–client relationship. We do not pass this data on to third parties without your consent.
09 Data processed when you instruct us
If you instruct us to represent or advise you, we process the personal data required to carry out the engagement. Depending on the case, this may include special categories of personal data – for example health data in medical liability cases or claims for damages.
The legal bases are the performance of our engagement agreement with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject as lawyers (point (c)) and – for special categories of data – the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (Art. 9(2)(f) GDPR). As lawyers, we are bound by the statutory duty of professional confidentiality. We treat your data in strict confidence.
10 Recipients and categories of recipients
We pass on your data only where this is necessary to carry out the engagement or required by legal obligations. Recipients may include in particular:
- courts, public authorities and other public bodies,
- the opposing party and its legal representatives,
- experts, expert assessors and other bodies involved in the proceedings,
- IT service providers we engage, our hosting provider and providers of the web services we use (e.g. Google) – in each case as processors,
- our tax adviser, to fulfil tax obligations.
We have concluded the corresponding agreements with our processors under Art. 28 GDPR.
12 Transfers to third countries
When we use Google Analytics, personal data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google has committed, and on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission as appropriate safeguards within the meaning of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR. Beyond this, we do not intend to transfer your data to countries outside the EU/EEA.
13 Storage period
We store your personal data only for as long as this is necessary for the relevant purposes or as statutory retention obligations require. We usually delete enquiries that do not lead to an engagement after six months at the latest. After an engagement ends, we keep the data relating to it for the statutory retention and limitation periods – in particular under the Lawyers’ Act (RAO) and the retention obligations under tax law (usually seven years, longer in individual cases).
14 Your rights
With regard to the data we process, you generally have the following rights:
- the right of access to the data stored about you,
- the right to rectification of inaccurate data,
- the right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’),
- the right to restriction of processing,
- the right to data portability,
- the right to object to processing,
- the right to withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. To exercise your rights, simply send a message to office@teamanwaelte.at; no particular form is required. Please note that some rights may be restricted because of lawyers’ duty of professional confidentiality and statutory retention obligations.
15 Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you have the right to complain to us or to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
Austrian Data Protection Authority
Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria
Phone: +43 1 52 152-0
Email: dsb@dsb.gv.at
Web: www.dsb.gv.at
We will update this Privacy Policy if the law or our processing operations change. The version published on this page is the one that applies.

11 Social media
We have a presence on Facebook and Instagram. If you visit our profiles or interact with us there, the respective providers process your data under their own responsibility and in accordance with their own privacy policies. Our website does not include any active social media plug-ins that automatically transmit data to these providers when you open a page. It contains only simple links to them.
